Machita Dance Company is proud to offer a variety of Dance and Acro classes for dancers of all ages, girls and boys. From Tap to Ballet, Jazz to Hip Hop, Lyrical to Contemporary - we are a well-rounded dance studio located right outside of Baton Rouge in Port Allen, Louisiana. Come dance with us!

MOVE
Mini Movers
for dancers ages 1.5 - 2
A non-recital dance for our younger babies. 1/2 hour of creative movement and 15 minutes of tumbling. Great class for boys and girls.
Creative movement portion consist of fun, interactive dance class. They will work to improve and develop their balance, coordination, rhythm, creativity, and most of all confidence. The use of upbeat music and wonderful props will provide a great environment for boys and girls to have a blast. Tumbling will be basic rolls, jumping, etc.
Newbies
for dancers ages 3 - 4
Classes offered:
Ballet & Tap
Acro
The newbies level includes a dancer’s on stage debut! We offer an hour long combo class, which includes 30 minutes of ballet & 30 minutes of tap. They will work to improve listening skills, balance and coordination. Dance terminology is introduced as well as choreography.
Newbies Acro focuses on flexibility and strength.
Petites
for dancers ages 5 - 6

Acro
Our ballet and tap combo class includes ½ hour of ballet & a ½ hour of tap. Dancers in this class perform 2 routines in our recital to show off the terminology, choreography, and discipline they’ve learned throughout the year. This class also includes a small introduction to jazz.
Petites Hip Hop is 30 minutes full of fun, energetic movement! They get sassy and groovy! This is a recital class.
Petites Acro focuses on flexibility and strength.
DEVELOP
Minis
for dancers ages 7 - 8

Our mission is to instill confidence in our Minis! Their combo class includes 45 minutes of Ballet, 45 minutes of Jazz and 30 minutes of Tap equaling 2 consecutive hours of dance. In this class, they are developing new skills and improving old skills throughout the season in every style.
Minis Hip Hop is 45 minutes full of fun, energetic movement! At this level, there is a strong focus on rhythm, grooves and coordination.
Acro is an additional Non-Recital class offered to improve flexibility, strength, and acrobatic skills.
Beginners
for dancers ages 8 - 10

At the Beginner level, all your classes become separate. You are introduced to new styles & your vocabulary for dance grows immensely. We love this level because of how much growth we see in our dancers here! It is fun, challenging and rewarding!

Our Intermediate dancers are focused and love a challenge! With experience and passion, we push these dancers to get creative with self expression of style and improv.

for dancers ages 14+

Our Advanced dancers have a strong dedication and passion for dance! They work hard & train in various styles. We challenge them technically, musically, and mentally to be the very best that they can be. Also, if a dancer is interested in pursuing dance past high school, we help prepare them for that at this level.
Adults
for dancers ages 18+
Classes offered:
Hip Hop
No dance experience required. Every adult deserves a little sweat sesh to help get their mind off things & let loose! Our Adult Hip Hop class is a stellar way to have fun and stay fit! This is a recital class, and do not be mistaken… our adults steal the show every single year!
